Terms of service.
Last updated: June 2026
Welcome to BURSIFY. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the BURSIFY platform, including our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Service Description
BURSIFY is a financial recovery and benefits discovery platform. Our Service helps you identify and claim money you may be owed through:
- Scanning for unclaimed government benefits, tax credits, and assistance programs
- Analyzing insurance denial letters and generating AI-powered appeal arguments
- Matching you with eligible class action settlements based on your transaction history
- Identifying overcharged fees, billing errors, and refund opportunities
BURSIFY is a self-help tool. It is not a law firm, financial or tax advisor, insurance company, public adjuster, or debt collector, and it does not provide legal, financial, tax, insurance, or medical advice. We draft documents that you review, edit, and sign; you remain the filer of record and the responsible party on every appeal, dispute, demand, and claim, and you may consult a licensed professional at any time. Bursify does not represent you before any insurer, court, agency, or other third party as your agent or adjuster.
Using Bursify is not the practice of law and does not create an attorney–client or agent–client relationship. We do not select legal strategies, theories, or arguments for you, do not exercise professional judgment about your specific matter, and cannot appear, advocate, or negotiate on your behalf before any insurer, court, agency, or tribunal. Our software provides general legal and procedural information and prepares documents at your direction from the facts you supply, for you to review and file yourself. Your communications with Bursify are not protected by attorney–client privilege. If you need legal advice or representation, consult a licensed attorney in your state.
2. Account Registration
To use the Service, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in your jurisdiction
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate and current
- Maintain only one account per person; duplicate accounts will be terminated
- Keep your login credentials confidential and not share them with others
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately at support@bursify.app.
3. Subscriptions & Billing
BURSIFY offers a free tier and paid subscription tiers (Essential and Pro). Current plan names, prices, and what each tier includes are shown on our Pricing page, which is the authoritative source and is presented to you again at checkout before you are charged.
All paid subscriptions are billed in advance through Stripe and renew automatically each billing period until you cancel. Your subscription is the only fee BURSIFY charges — there is no performance fee, success fee, or per-recovery charge of any kind, and we never take a cut of what you recover. You may cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial periods. If you upgrade or downgrade mid-cycle, the change takes effect immediately and billing is prorated accordingly.
4. AI Disclaimer
BURSIFY uses artificial intelligence to analyze your financial data, generate insurance appeal letters, identify eligible benefits, and provide recommendations. While our AI models are designed to be accurate and helpful, you should be aware of the following:
- AI-generated appeal letters and recommendations are not legal advice. They are tools to assist you and should be reviewed before submission.
- You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving all AI-generated content. Nothing is submitted until you sign it, and you sign as the filer of record.
- No automated decision-making. Our AI assists you; it does not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. A human — you — reviews, edits, and approves every output before any action is taken, and you may route any case to a human reviewer at any time. Decisions about your coverage, claim, benefits, or eligibility are made by your insurer, the agency, or you, never by Bursify's AI.
- AI analysis may not capture all nuances of your individual situation. We recommend consulting with a qualified professional for complex legal or financial matters.
- Benefit eligibility determinations are estimates based on the information you provide and may not reflect final eligibility decisions by government agencies or insurers.
5. Data Usage
By connecting your financial accounts through Plaid, you authorize BURSIFY to access your financial data on a read-only basis. This data is used exclusively to provide the Service as described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy. We access account balances, transaction history, account holder information, and institution details. We never store your banking credentials and cannot initiate transactions on your behalf.
You may revoke data access at any time by disconnecting your accounts in Settings. For full details on how we collect, use, and protect your data, please review our Privacy Policy.
6. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BURSIFY AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:
- Your use of or inability to use the Service
- Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
- The outcome of any insurance appeal, benefit application, or settlement claim
- Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in AI-generated content
- Third-party actions, including decisions by insurers, government agencies, or courts
Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to BURSIFY in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
7. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy → Delete Account. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Active subscriptions will be canceled, and no further charges will be made.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, create multiple accounts, abuse the Service, or act in a manner that is harmful to other users or the platform. We will provide notice before suspension when reasonably possible.
8. Availability & State-Specific Provisions
BURSIFY is available to consumers in California, New York, Texas, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan, with additional states added over time. Availability does not change what the Service is: in every state, Bursify provides self-help tools, and you file your own appeals, disputes, demands, and claims as the filer of record, subject to the laws, procedures, and deadlines of your state.
Where your state grants you specific rights — including subscription auto-renewal and cancellation protections, data-privacy rights, and medical-bill and insurance-appeal procedures — those rights apply to you, and nothing in these Terms waives or limits any right you cannot waive under your state's law. State-by-state consumer protections we rely on when drafting are summarized on our Know Your Rights pages.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except that mandatory consumer-protection laws of your state of residence continue to apply to you where they cannot be waived. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the State of Delaware, subject to any non-waivable right you have to bring a claim in your home state.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.
If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us at legal@bursify.app.
